Step 1

Registration

Entry to our school is at three years old. Children must turn three before 1st September of their admission year. Children may be registered from birth to the 15th May of the year preceding their admission year. Please see the timelines below.

Registration requires a completed Registration Form (available here CSS Registration Form) and a non refundable payment of £150 directly into the school’s bank account (Bank of Scotland, Sort Code: 12-01-03, Account No: 06103260). Forms need to be signed by both parents and may be returned by post or by email to life@charterhousesquareschool.co.uk

Confirmation by email will be sent once both the completed form and the payment are received. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please telephone the school as we will not be held responsible for lost registration forms or payments.

Entry into Reception, Y1-Y5 

Occasionally we have places available in these year groups so please email us and register your interest as the registration process differs from that detailed above.

 

Step 2

Ballot

Places are allocated by a ballot drawn by the Headmistress, the School Registrar and the Assistant Director of Education from Cognita. We offer 52 places. Registered siblings automatically receive a place providing their brother or sister attends Charterhouse Square School at the time of the ballot and their first term of entry. Therefore it is only for the remaining places that the ballot is drawn.

Step 3

Offer

Successful applicants are sent an offer letter by first class post and invited to attend an Open Morning. Unsuccessful applicants receive a letter asking if they wish their child to remain on the waiting list.

Step 4

Deposit

On receipt of an offer letter, your child’s place is held pending receipt of the £6,000 Acceptance Deposit which must be paid by the date set below. Your child’s place is not secure until the deposit is received. Should your child not start with us for any reason whatsoever, your Acceptance Deposit will be forfeited. Deferrals are not permitted.

Please note that the Acceptance Deposit is made to secure your child’s place. This is held by us until your child leaves the school, at which point the deposit is refunded against the final term’s fees, providing that one term’s notice has been given.
