Our school is so full of life that it’s hard to keep up with all the activity that goes on and all the many successes that our children enjoy.


At the end of each term we try to bring you up-to-date with the many activities in which our children have been engaged and general school news. You can find links to download these newsletters below. From time to time we also post individual items of news on this page – whether it’s details of a forthcoming event or other helpful school information.

City Schools’ Netball Tournament

March 22, 2018

On Friday 16th March the girls netball team took part in a competition against City of London School for Girls and St Paul’s Girls School.  They did fantastically well, winning three of their matches and coming third in the tournament.

Charterhouse Cup Week 2018

Annually there is a week full of sports, where we are split into four houses. They are called the Green Team, the Red Team, the Blue Team and the Yellow Team!

Netball Tournament

On the 9th of March 2018, a group of Year 6 girls travelled to Redbridge Sports Centre to participate in a netball tournament against 20 different schools.

City Schools’ Swimming Gala

On 26th January our swimming squad swam their hearts out and achieved the remarkable feat of retaining the City Schools’ Gala trophy.  Every member of the squad trained exceptionally hard and did our school proud.

Touch Rugby Tournament

February 8, 2018

On Wednesday 31st January 2018 the year 3 and year 5/6 girls and boys touch rugby team faced the challenge of the Gower School teams.

Under 10 Touch Rugby Festival

November 7, 2017

On Wednesday 1st November 2017, 10 boys from Year 4 and 5 were selected to take part in the Independent Schools Association Under 10 Touch Rugby Festival at Littlegarth School, Colchester. In a highly competitive competition Charterhouse Square School finished 2nd, scoring 4 thrilling tries from Lorenzo x2, Adam and Tasso. This was an incredible achievement. The team made the school proud.

Girls’ Football Domination

On Wednesday 1st November our girls football team played The Gower School. The girls put on an outstanding performance, winning 11-0.

End of Year Letter to Parents

Dear Parents,

The end of the academic year often means that we are sadly not only saying goodbye to our year 6 children but also to members of staff.

As parents in the Upper House are already aware  Marianne Daniels  leaves us to join The British School in The Netherlands, thereby returning to her family, following what has been a very difficult year indeed.  I would like to thank her for being so professional throughout this period and for bringing so many wonderful and exciting ideas to the classroom.

Premier Performance

July 4, 2017

The annual Premier Performance, this year on 28th June, had children from all of the Upper House performing songs, poems or playing musical instruments.   Anyone is allowed to participate and it gives all children a chance to show what they are learning either in or out of school.

City Schools’ Tennis Tournament

June 20, 2017

On Tuesday 13th June 2017, four children were invited to represent Charterhouse Square School in the City Schools’ years 3 and 4 tennis tournament. Lorenzo, Georgia, Edie and Sebastian played some fabulous tennis defeating 3 other London Schools to win the tournament.
