Mosque Trip

The Red Room are learning about religions of the world and went on a fantastic trip to the East London Mosque. A guide showed us around the Mosque and we noticed that there was a dome in the large room where people pray and learn together. We were able to see where men and women wash themselves before entering, and some of us even had a go washing our face, hands and feet. We had a wonderful time and at school we all had lots to say about what we learnt and what we enjoyed about the visit.

"The dome makes our voices louder", said Hector.

"The windows were triangle shapes", said Amina.

"Muslims have to pray five times a day", said Georgia.

"We took of our shoes so that the room wouldn't get dirty", said Jack.

"There was one door for men and one door for women", said Hugo.

"The women wore scarves on their heads to be covered", said Aimar.
