Letter to Parents

Summer Term in the Blue Room

April 2010

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Summer Term! We are looking forward to covering some more interesting topics for our humanities.  We would be very grateful if you could kindly send in any information (not internet printouts!), artefacts, leaflets, postcards, posters and books you may have to contribute to our lessons.

Science

Characteristics of Materials

Light and Shadows

Geography

Europe - We will be focussing on the countries France, Spain, Greece and Italy.

History

Ancient Egyptians - Mummies, Pharoahs, Gods and Goddesses, Hieroglyphics, Egyptian Homes and Dress, and the Nile are just some of the features we will be learning about.

Please bring in your contributions clearly labelled with your child’s name if you would like them to be returned to you at the end of the topics.

This year our Key Stage One Production will be ‘Bumblesnouts Save the World’. The basis of the story is about looking after our planet. Rehearsals have begun and we will be sending out further information regarding costumes in due course.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours sincerely,

Katie & Margaux
