Letter to Parents

What's happening in the Yellow Room?

Summer Term Newsletter

Dear Parents,

The summer term is here!  We can not quite believe how quickly this year is flying by! Ever busy in the Yellow Room, here is a brief outline of what is happening in our Humanities topics this term.

Geography

Our topics will be The Countryside and The Seaside. We will be investigating the main features of these localities and comparing them to London.

Science

We have two topics this term.

The first topic is Health and Growth. For our first lesson we will require each child to bring in four photos in the following order.

  • Photo 1. Newborn
  • Photo 2.  1-2 years old
  • Photo 3.   3-4 years old
  • Photo 4.   Current .

Please try to send in photocopies of pictures as we shall be sticking them into our topic books.

The second topic will be Forces and Movement. This will develop their understanding of how pushes and pulls affect the movement of shapes and objects. We will be learning through experimental and investigative work.

History

We shall be studying The Great Fire of London. The children will explore what caused the fire and different ways in which the event was represented.

Again, we would love to have any books, photographs and pictures you may have to help in our class discussions.

Thank you for your invaluable support.
